Every three months Triathlon Australia requires elite athletes to submit their times for the National Paratriathlon Standards Performance. Today, I went to the South Australian Athletics Stadium to do a 3,000m run as required for the assessment.
I'm very happy to have done a personal best time in 10:29 which is an average of about 3:26 per km. There was some cross wind on the track but I managed to keep up the speed for the 7 and a half laps it took. It's a good fitness checkpoint six weeks before the World Championships in Chicago in the middle of September.
